Michael Anastassiades

Cypriot-born Michael Anastassiades is a London-based designer known  above all for his exploration of contemporary notions of culture and aesthetics through a combination of product, furniture and environmental design. Positioned between fine art and design, his work aims to provoke dialogue and interaction. Among prominent museums and galleries featuring his work in permanent collections are MoMA New York, the Craft Council and Victoria & Albert in London and Vienna’s MAK.

Michael trained as a civil engineer at London’s Imperial College of Science Technology and Medicine before taking a Masters degree in industrial design at the Royal College of Art.

The philosophy of his eponymous studio, launched in 1994, is a continuous search for eclecticism, individuality, and timeless qualities in design.
