Working for kids: listen to the plans of the little ones!
During Fuorisalone we created a space entirely dedicated to budding designers.
On Sunday the Salvatori showroom at Via Solferino 11 played host to a laboratory dedicated entirely to children and the development of their creativity.
For 20 children from the St. Louis School of Milan it was a special day: a first approach to design suitable for children.
The creative kids, aged from 5 to 8 years old, had access to material of all kinds, from marble to polystyrene, from sponges to paper rolls, from newspapers to boxes, from sticks to milk cartons. With these simple tools they gave birth to their "projects"with full freedom in developing their ideas with different techniques. The theme proposed to them: the construction of a house and they had at their beck and call supervisors / mentors of exceptional note: the Israeli designer Ron Gilad, coined "Designer of the Year" by magazines Wallpaper* and Elle Decor, and two art teachers from the St. Louis School of Milan, Holly Warren and Toni Reid.
The works of the young creators were on display in the showroom, open to the public throughout Sunday 13th April and Monday14th April.
A new and unusual way for Salvatori to draw attention to the dreams and ideas of the marvellous and untouched world of children: guided only by instinct and imagination.
