Vincent Van Duysen
After graduating from the Higher Institute of Architecture Sint-Lucas, in Ghent, Belgian Vincent Van Duysen worked in Milan and Brussels before opening his own studio in 1990 in Antwerp.
Although best known as an architect, he has gained a reputation for his minimalist aesthetic across a number of disciplines, including interior design, furniture and lighting design. By interpreting architecture and redefining its proportions, Van Duysen creates objects of great purity and simplicity that still retain a concrete character and solid form. Functionality, durability and comfort are the prime components of his work.
He has been the creative force behind residential projects in London, New York and Milan, offices in Beirut and Riyadh, and top-range commercial spaces in Paris, Rome and Hong Kong. Vincent Van Duysen designed the Gliss Master cabinet system and the Ribbon bed for Molteni&C.
In 2016 he was appointed creative director of Molteni&C and Dada and in the same year was named Designer of the Year at Biennale Interieur 2016. In the course of his career he has received numerous accolades including Elle Decoration International Design Awards (2017) and Product of the Year at the 2017 FX International Interior Design Awards.
