The small holes you may see on the surface are a natural characteristic of Light Travertine and should not be considered defects, however you may choose to fill them during the installation process if you prefer a more uniform effect.
The images shown on this page are indicative of the colour and characteristics of our products but cannot be 100% representative. Being made from natural materials, every tile or slab is unique in terms of tonality, colour and characteristic. These are all subject to variation depending on the type of stone and the conditions in the quarry from where it comes.
Our stone leaves the factory untreated as the level and type of treatment will always depend on the context in which the stone is laid. With each order we provide detailed installation instructions setting out directions for grouting, pre-treatment, gluing and final treatment. These instructions recommend the highest possible levels of protective penetrating sealant which will help preserve the look and feel of the stone. However, please remember that there is no sealer on the market that can make a natural stone 100% stain proof, especially if you leave the staining agent on it for a prolonged period. The sealant allows you to have a few hours between the moment the staining agent (tomato, coffee, perfume, etc) comes in contact with the stone and the moment you wipe it off. So, if wine spills on your counter, you will need to wipe it off within a few hours to avoid permanent staining.
